This map is an upgrade of the popular DK-Torlan. Torlan was converted into a decent VCTF map, but had a few problems which we corrected.
Every node and base now has color-coordinated teleporters, for easy travel throughout your half of the map. You no longer have to walk for miles when you can't get a vehicle. This addition also opens up new possibilities on offense. Formerly, Manta runs were the only method of flag capture with a chance of succeeding. Now, a determined footsoldier can grab the flag and teleport out of the base, giving him a modest chance of surviving.
Finally, in the middle of the map, there is a small fleet of team-neutral vehicles that anyone can use. One extra Raptor or Hellbender may be enough to ensure victory, so controlling the mountain is an important strategy. There's a Cicada up there too, which should help teach those omnipresent tank whores a lesson. |
