MAME Merge 4.0
27 May 2005 - woohoo...
MAMEDev have kindly allowed me to use the names NetMAME and NetMAME32. Thanks guys!
4 May 2005 - netmame update
Sorry, real life has been getting in the way of development. Rest assured that I have not abandoned it. The remaining issues to be resolved are the input remapping and the nvram transfer when players > 2. I would also like to reduce the bandwidth it requires before I distribute it.
16 April 2005 - ...but what about netmame?
While messing about with the code, somehow I managed to completely screw it up. I've since restarted from scratch and have it working again. Currently, I am attempting to figure out why the only neogeo game (mslug) tested so far desyncs. After ruling out the memcard emulation, I now suspect that differences between the emulated RTCs (Real Time Clocks) are to blame. Unfortunately, this may mark the beginning of driver specific hacks as a workaround. If required, these hacks should be no different to the input recording and playback hacks already in MAME.
update: That seems to have fixed it. Next I need to have a look at any driver using RTCs or RNGs (Random Number Generators). Please be patient, this could take a while. If you can think of any other obstacles I might encounter, I'd love to hear from you.
14 April 2005 - I've moved!
Welcome all to my new home here at EmuChrist. I'd like to take this opportunity to extend a huge THANKYOU to Brad and all for taking me in. I'm sure I'll enjoy my stay here as much as I have the many years that I called MAMEWorld my home. My reasons for leaving MAMEWorld have nothing to do with RocLobsta, KiLLerCloWn, or Twisty and I maintain the utmost respect for all of them. If you haven't yet visited MAMEWorld I urge you to do so as it IS the ultimate MAME news and support site on the web.
On a side note, I'd appreciate your help in spreading the word about MAME Merge. If you don't see the change of my address or future updates to MAME Merge mentioned on your favorite arcade related emulation news sites, please submit the news to their staff for me. Thankyou.
If you want to contact me for any reason, my email address can be found inside the zip below.
